Summermusik - Spirit Chief Names the Animal People
Spirit Chief Names the Animal People is a family-friendly event for kids aged 8–13 and their families, focusing on the importance of water in Native American culture. Participants will enjoy a read-aloud of "We Are Water Protectors," create a water-inspired tapestry, and explore music and dance. The event features performances by Starr Chief Eagle (Lakota hoop dancer) and Connor Chee (Navajo pianist), along with storytelling and choral works. Free admission with a suggested $15 donation; reservations encouraged.

Family Literacy Event
Join the Family Literacy Event featuring "Viva Frida" by Yuyi Morales and "Who Was Her Own Work of Art." Enjoy a read-aloud, a Books Alive! For Kids® video, and a companion book series. Students will receive a book kit with a craft and a QR code for the interactive library. Don’t miss this fun, multicultural celebration — and be sure to grab some popcorn with Paige!

Read Across CPS
Read Across CPS is a Cincinnati Public Schools program designed to create a love for reading among students. It features guest readers, themed reading activities, and engaging events aimed at encouraging literacy and academic growth. The initiative brings the community together to highlight the importance of reading and create a fun, supportive environment for students to develop their reading skills.

Books Alive! For Kids® @Pleasant Ridge Montessori School
Join us for a night of celebration! LTA has teamed up with our friends at Pleasant Ridge Montessori to provide an immersive literacy event featuring the book, Kite Flying by Grace Lin for PreK-3rd grades. Our Companion Book Series featuring, The Kite Fighters by Linda Sue Park bring the joy of kite building to the big kids! Fun for all ages at PRM!

It provides relevant, action-oriented, forward-looking content for members of the state’s arts and cultural sector at an affordable price.

Solar Eclipse 2024 - Path of Totality
The next total solar eclipse to visit North America will be April 8, 2024. The duration of totality will be up to 4 minutes and 27 seconds, almost double that of The Great American Eclipse of August 21, 2017. The 2017 total solar eclipse was witnessed by about 20 million people from Oregon to South Carolina, and the upcoming 2024 Great American Eclipse is sure to be witnessed by many millions more. According to National Eclipse, Ohio residents can first see the moon overtake the sun at 1:53 p.m. before it fully reappears at 4:30 p.m. The eclipse totality will last from 3:08 to 3:19 p.m. as it cuts a swath from southwest to northeast Ohio.
