Books Alive! For Kids® will be at the Cincinnati Museum Center as we celebrate literacy through sight, sound, and touch!
Build literacy through play with Books Alive! For Kids® and our friends, inside the brand new Kids’ Town Park at the Cincinnati Children's Museum Center!
Join us in the Corbett Theater from 11a.m - 2p.m. as we explore connection and community with the award-winning book, “Last Stop on Market Street.” We'll read the book, build an art project, and then bring our community to life through creative performances on stage!
Kids’ Town Park encourages kids and adults to experience the space together, and it features artwork by local artists Annie Ruth, Lizzy DuQuette, and Charley Harper. An interactive pond floor projection helps you learn about verbs as you enter designated hot spots and activate butterflies that flutter, worms that wriggle, and frogs that leap. Rotating character cubes invite you to tell a funny story using six characters to mix and match. Will you put a toucan’s head on a tiger’s body as it walks on crocodile legs? You can also speak to the talking tree and hear your words repeated back to you in a magical voice - which helps us to match spoken and heard words! There's even a street library that turns letter cards into a giant see-and-say, reading the letter and picture out loud with a focus on phonics.
Come and explore all of this, and more! Saturday, July 13th
