  • Kathy Wade - CEO & Co-Founder

    Kathy Wade is a multiple regional EMMY-winner and an award-winning international jazz entertainer, producer, CEO, and bridge-builder in the community.

    Kathy co-founded Learning Through Art, Inc., which has built community through art and impacted over one million participants for more than three decades.

    Kathy is the creator and executive producer of the national award-winning and multiple regional EMMY-winning performing arts literacy program Books Alive! For Kids®.

    Learning Through Art anchors Kathy’s belief in giving back to the community. A graduate of Edgecliff College with a BA in Sociology, Kathy holds a Master of Arts from College-Conservatory of Music-University of Cincinnati.

  • Kelly Jo Asbury - Artistic Director

    Kelly Jo Asbury is an educator, collaborator, activist, and artist. She has sought and cultivated equitable, interdisciplinary connections within post-secondary and primary education for much of her career.

    Kelly led LTA to the world stage as presenters for the World Literacy Summit at the University of Oxford, and applied her years of experience in education to help earn Learning Through Art, Inc. a STEMmy as Organization of the Year. She also appears as crafty Ms. Kelly, for the regional, EMMY award-winning Books Alive! For Kids® streaming productions.

    Kelly attended the University of Cincinnati and received her MFA in Painting from the School of DAAP. She obtained a BFA in the studio arts within Painting and Drawing with a minor in Theatre, alongside a BA in Graphic Design from Northern Kentucky University. Kelly’s work has been awarded and shown nationally as well as internationally.

  • Carissa Ray - PR & Multimedia Producer

    Before founding GreenCraft Media in 2020, Carissa gained 15 years of experience telling visual stories through digital media; beautiful photography; and by creating engaging video content for some of the world’s biggest media and social platforms.

    Carissa is an award-winning multimedia and video journalist – with a Society for Features Journalism award and an Emmy win during her time as Supervising Multimedia Producer for NBC's TODAY show in New York, NY. She was also an NBC News Multimedia Journalist for 6 years prior to her role at TODAY, and a member of their awesome Digital Production team that earned a number of National and International awards.

    Since she began working with LTA, Carissa has won 2 regional Emmys for her role as Producer of Books Alive! For Kids episodes and has also written several segments of the award-winning series.

  • Adoria Maxberry - Lead Puppeteer for the Bird with the Word, Paige Turner

    Adoria L. Maxberry is a visual artist, licensed educator, wife and mother of three, based in Cincinnati. As an arts educator and civic leader, she facilitates unique and meaningful art experiences with a focus on creativity, exploration, and reflection. Adoria’s company, Most OutGROWing LLC, is dedicated to helping others grow spiritually, mentally, and creatively through art. She serves as the visual arts educator at Woodford Academy, designer and lead teaching artist for Artworks. She is also the lead puppeteer on the Emmy-Winning, performing arts literacy program, Books Alive! For Kids® Virtual Adventures series, through Learning Through Art, Inc. Additionally, Adoria is a member of Black Art Speaks and the lead designer on the letter “M” in the Cincinnati Black Lives Matter mural. Adoria finds joy in sharing her experiences with students as a Taft Artist Reaching the Classroom speaker and is often sought out for her ability to capture an audience with her engaging personality.

  • Dr. Erica Page - Organizational Effectiveness Consultant

    Dr. Erica Page is an Industrial/Organizational Psychology graduate from the University of Cincinnati.

    Her research interests are diversity and inclusion in the workplace, which she has presented both regionally and internationally.

    As an Organizational Effectiveness Consultant for Learning Through Art, Inc. she helps design and implement program evaluation strategies.
