Books Alive! For Kids® @Brighton Center with A Black Anthology of Music: The Resilience of Jazz

  • Brighton Center 706 Park Avenue Newport, KY 41071 United States (map)

Kathy Wade brings “A Black Anthology of Music,” a feature in her educational program Learning Through Art, Inc. to the Brighton Center. The show explores the origins of Jazz music, as well as focuses on teaching children to “finish what they start,” creatively linking the need to master basic educational skills such as reading, writing, math, social studies, thinking and listening with music.

A musical exploration of reconciliation, A Black Anthology of Music: The Resilience of Jazz, is an engaging, expanded performance concert that traces the historic resilience of Jazz as it parallels the framing of America.
