More about Learning Through Art, Inc. & our Books Alive! For Kids® programming

Learning Through Art, Inc. (LTA), is a premier 501(c)(3) non-profit organization celebrating over 32 years of building community through art. Offering programs of cultural arts — the most common bond between people and cultures — to increase opportunities for collaboration, arts education, artistic growth, community engagement, and economic development throughout the Greater Cincinnati Metropolitan region and beyond.

With a mission that encourages multicultural awareness and understanding, Learning Through Art, Inc. is one of the fastest-growing Black and Women-led organizations in the US Midwest region with an intentional focus on elevating the perspectives of marginalized groups.

Learning Through Art’s driving purpose is to provide literacy programming in support of arts-integrated education, community development and engagement. Our programs seek to build bridges, break down barriers, and bring neighbors and neighborhoods together in celebration of the rich mosaic beauty of our multicultural region.

In 1998, Learning Through Art, Inc. (LTA) launched our signature program, Books Alive! For Kids® (BA!FK®), with the goal of strengthening families and communities by bringing books to life through sight, sound, and touch.  We read books, we share a performance, and we lead young readers and families in a hands-on craft activity. Twenty-six years later, we have served over 1,100,000 students and families within the US and Jamaica, with new opportunities being planned in South Africa.
