Learning Through Art, Inc. presents the 2010 Kroger Cincinnati Snaps™ Virtual Photo Exhibition and Competition, a unique arts and culture community engagement project capturing the mosaic beauty of our neighbors and neighborhoods from our neighbors one snapshot at a time. Now in its fifth year, the Kroger Cincinnati Snaps™ virtual exhibition opens in the city’s living room, Fountain Square on Thursday, June 24, 2010, 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. with the distribution of 2500 free Kroger Cincinnati Snaps™ disposable cameras to engage the community to participate.
Kroger Cincinnati Snaps™, the first ever virtual photo exhibition to debut on Macy’s Jumbotron, encourages Greater Cincinnati residents to see the region through their eyes by submitting photos that capture the essence of their respective neighbors, neighborhoods and communities. The virtual exhibition will continue through August 31, 2010 in the regular rotation. A photo exhibition will be on display in the Cincinnati-Hamilton County Main Public Library during the same period.
Participants of all ages can submit up to 3 photos online at http://.snaps.learningthroughart.com. Complete submission rules and regulations are available by clicking here. All approved photos are entered into the juried competition.
Join us on Fountain Square for the salsa sounds of Orchestra Kandela, the city’s hot all female 12 piece salsa band and start snapping!

In partnership with the Zoo, admission on July 21 is just $1 from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m., and features entertainment throughout the day with world music and artists, including Los Embajadores Peruanos Peruvian Folkloric Dance Troupe, Bi-okoto African Dance Troupe, Orquesta Kandela: Women In Salsa Band, Cincinnati Super Choir under the direction of P. Ann Everson-Price, DJ Pillo, Jorge Wojtas, Tracy Walker and Keshvar Project, as well as face and henna painting, strolling entertainment by the Amazing Portable Circus, and a Mardi Gras parade lead by Cajun band Lagniappe. The popular Books Alive! For Kids® celebrity storytellers will feature books read by Victoria Morgan, Cincinnati Ballet; Bob Herzog, Local 12 WKRC and surprise celebrity guest.
.The first 2,000 groups will receive a free Kroger Snap Cam to encourage participation in the Kroger Cincinnati Snaps Photo competition.

Metro’s Route 1 Art Bus will offer $1 round-trip bus fare from anywhere on the route. Riders on the bus will enjoy in-transport entertainment with French guitarist Sylvain Acher and Amazing Portable Circus Traveling Mime. |
