CINCINNATI SNAPS : VOLUME 1

FOREWORD BY JIM BORGMAN

On Friday, June 20, Learning Through Art, Inc. (LTA) will officially release its first coffee table compilation of neighborhood photography submitted by area residents throughout the Greater Cincinnati region. In collaboration with Local 12, WKRC-TV and Kroger with a fresh perspective from editorial cartoonist Jim Borgman's Foreword, Cincinnati Snaps: Volume 1 is a celebration of us, by us, through our eyes.

The Kroger Co. provides LTA with the free cameras as part of the Kroger Snap Your Neighborhood Photo Competition and Exhibition, which are distributed during the annual all day free admission Kids, Cultures, Critters and Crafts Festival presented in partnership with the Cincinnati Zoo and Botanical Garden. Those cameras are used to encourage neighbors to snap it, send it and watch for a featured photo on Local 12, WKRC-TV each morning throughout the summer months. Winning photos selected by a panel of judges comprise Cincinnati Snaps: Volume 1.

LTA will unveil Cincinnati Snaps: Volume 1 at the new Kilimanjaro Cocktail Garden Party presented by the Fine Arts Fund in the Kilimanjaro Shelter from 5-7 PM. The cocktail cuisine will feature a wonderful international fare in keeping with celebrating our mosaic beauty during the day.

Cincinnati Snaps: Volume 1 highlights photography submitted by neighbors throughout Greater Cincinnati as part of the Kroger Snap Your Neighborhood Photo Competition. The first 500 purchasers at the Zoo of this coffee table keepsake ($25) will receive a free disposable Kroger Snap Your Neighborhood 'Hood Cam. Cincinnati Snaps: Volume 1 will be available in all area Kroger stores, Joseph-Beth Booksellers, Barnes and Noble and Borders. From June 22 - August 26, you can enjoy art in the market with featured photos in the traveling Kroger Snap Your Neighborhood Photo Exhibition in selected area Kroger stores in Ohio, Indiana and Kentucky. All proceeds from Cincinnati Snaps: Volume 1 benefits the performing arts and literacy programs of Learning Through Art, Inc.

Cincinnati Snaps: Volume 1 and the Kroger Snap Your Neighborhood traveling exhibition is generously underwritten by The Skyler Foundation and the partners at Neusole Glassworks. Neusole Glassworks is a Walnut Hills glass blowing art studio, whose partners are excited with the artistic celebration in the photographs taken around the historic Walnut Hills neighborhood.
